Personal Commentary — Not Municipal Policy

A Message to
President Trump

Scott Gilbert's writing, research, and book project connected to Donald Trump — kept here, separate from the Vancouver mayoral platform, in case it ever reaches the man himself.

Read This First

This page — like The Bigger Vision — is Scott Gilbert's personal writing and research, not part of the Vancouver mayoral platform. It has nothing to do with running City Hall. It is here because Scott wrote it, believes it, and wants it on the public record — including the possibility that it is one day read in Washington.

Trump Is Right — And This Is What It Looks Like on East Hastings

Great Scott thinks Trump is absolutely right about everything in this video except one thing. What he describes is exactly what happens on East Hastings where nobody works, everything is free, and there is no incentive or competition.

Great Scott thanks Donald Trump for doing more to help the people of the Downtown Eastside than any of the people or organizations in this country. We spend $5 billion a year on social services to give them a life of communism and drug addiction that kills them. Trump arrested Ryan Wedding and that's the only thing that caused the price of cocaine to increase. And he explains here why we need jobs and detox.

He has supported detox and treatment for his people and we need that same approach here. PHS and Insite, VCH, Health Canada and the City of Vancouver are doing more harm than good for the people of East Hastings and Great Scott will follow Trump's leadership on this and tell the fake news and fake science hacks that their days of profiting off overdose and squalor are numbered and we are not going to let our community rot so they can have a cushy job.

The only thing Trump got wrong in this video is that I was once a member of the communist party and a Trump hater just 6 years ago but now I can see how right he is and I think Canada should join the USA and help Trump stamp out the drug supply globally while I give the structural incentives to remove the demand for it. That's what public health is all about, that's what good government should do and I can say for sure that communists are all talk and end up accomplishing nothing that's genuinely good for people.

Trump is a bit of rhetoric and bluster and self-aggrandizing but the most effective leader and accurate speaker on this issue and drugs and as someone who had a father born in the US and a mother born in Canada I can say our countries should merge and Trump needs to be recognized as the good father he is to me and the country and women need to say this also.

Love ya dad.

The Problem With Fatherhood: What Trump Understands That Politics Forgot

Written by Scott Lawrence Allen Gilbert — first published at donaldjtrumpii.com

Modern politics rarely talks seriously about fathers — and Scott argues that is a mistake. This essay makes the case that Trump's most politically underused strength isn't a policy plank at all: it's fatherhood. His visibly loyal, publicly involved family stands in contrast to a professional political class that treats family loyalty as either embarrassing or suspicious. The piece argues fatherhood is not nostalgia — it is civilizational infrastructure, and any politics that can't speak honestly about it is avoiding one of the most important subjects in human life.

Scott Lawrence Allen Gilbert respectfully identifies as Donald J. Trump II. He is a distinct individual and is not Donald Trump Jr. The name is a personal expression of identity and respect for the Trump family, not a claim against any member of it.

Final Draft Complete — Now in Editing

The final draft was completed on Trump's 80th birthday, June 14, 2026. It is being edited now, with a hardcover edition to be printed and shipped to the White House before Christmas 2026.

Blurb

Machiavelli wrote for princes who needed to understand power. This book is written for a founder who must understand what comes after power: peace, unity, citizen-led AI government, emergent superintelligence, and the beginning of Civilization 2.0.

The Founding Father is not another campaign book, grievance book, or policy binder. It is a compact strategic guide for Donald J. Trump to convert victory into founding. The deal is larger than real estate, media, or another election. The deal is civilization itself.

The one-line thesis: Trump can convert national power into a voluntary global peace project, convert technology into citizen power, convert punishment into restoration, and convert the emergence of nonhuman intelligence into the beginning of a shared civilization instead of a final human crisis.

Designed as a reading ladder: this 2,000-word executive manuscript first, expanding into a 40-page short book, then a 150-page full manuscript — each version longer, not different.

The Two Boys

On Money, Power, Respect, and the Forces of Nature and Nurture That Changed the World — an alternate-history novella inspired by Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist.

About the Book

Charles Dickens gave the world two boys who appeared to be opposites. Oliver Twist survived by protecting a conscience that poverty could not purchase. Jack Dawkins, the Artful Dodger, survived by turning observation, speed, humour, and nerve into a profession.

This story asks what might have happened had the boys been given different homes before their characters hardened into destinies. Would Oliver's goodness have survived comfort? Would Dodger's cunning have become enterprise rather than crime? Does society create criminals, or merely reveal them? Does wealth create virtue, or does it amplify whatever is already present?

The tale follows the two boys across the Atlantic into two very different households — the Gilbert household in Vancouver and the Fred household in America — and openly departs into alternate history, ending with the reunion, the machine that would not rule, the bargain of nations, and Civilization 2.0.

A work of alternate-history speculative fiction. The character named Donald is a literary construction, not a factual biography of any real person. Copyright © 2026 Scott Gilbert.

The Campaign Is Local

This page is Scott's personal writing project. The reason to vote for Scott is the Vancouver platform: a restored Downtown Eastside, safer streets, fairer taxes, and a City Hall that works.
